The first group signed by Still Fizzy Records, El Cijo were a group of multi-instrumentalists influenced by North American music.
The name recalled a word in Spanish, while in fact meant "the edge" in the dialect of Ancona, Italy.
“The idea of borderline is exactly what we wanted to give with the name El Cijo. The frontier, in short. Ancona, our city, is actually a border. It overlooks the Adriatic Sea. On the other side, a few miles away, there is the once called Yugoslavia. The East begins there, swimming distance.”
The group's roots extended into other artistic fields like the cinematic art team named Postodellefragole (as founding partners) making documentaries, short films and music videos for Italian and international artists.
El Cijo formed in 2007 and disbanded three years later for personal conflicts, releasing one full lenght album, Bonjour my love (2008), which received countless critical acclaims (including a nomination for best album of the year by Fuori dal Mucchio magazine).
